How To Enroll in an OSHA Course

First Things First: Online or On Site?

This first thing to consider when deciding to take an OSHA Outreach course is whether you are going to take it online or on site. This is entirely up to you. There are benefits to both options. If you take the course on site you get the benefit of hands on training. If you choose to take the course online, you will get to set the schedule yourself and take as long as you like – all from the comfort of your own home. Some people think that online courses are not OSHA approved, but this is far from the truth.

Where and How to Enroll?

If you decide you want to take the course online, then I recommend doing a little research. Search Engines are your friends. A quick Bing or Google search like “OSHA 10 Hour Online Course” will bring up a handful of companies eager to sign you up. Don’t be afraid to shop prices or find out which companies are running special offers. If you decide to take the course on site you have some options. OutreachTrainers.org can be a great resource for finding a certified trainer in your area. The yellow pages should have a large list of trainers in your area. Again the choice is up to you. Do you want a free and easy schedule or a more hands on learning environment?

Getting Your Certificate.

One of the most common concerns of people who want to take an online safety training course is not knowing how or when they will get their certificate, but this does not have to be a major concern. Some companies allow you to print out a temporary certificate of completion immediately upon completion of a training course, which is good until your laminated DOL card comes in the mail approximately 2 weeks later.
